IN THE PINK Trinity 17 2016

Number 358
Corisande Singers
If you have enjoyed the contributions to our Carol Service made by the Corisande Singers over the last few years, and if you have enjoyed Evensong and Benediction at the Patronal Festival at St Mary Mags this year, then you should definitely go along to Holy Trinity, Sloan Street next Sunday at 6pm. James will be playing the organ, and the Corisande Singers will be singing at solemn Evensong and Benediction. Holy Trinity church is well worth seeing, the best “arts and crafts” church in the country; it’s just off Sloan Square (and so easily accessible by tube).

Book Club
The September book club will meet at 7.30pm on Wednesday 28th September in the Meeting Room, in St.Peter’s House. The book to read is ‘A House for Mr Biswas’ by V.S. Naipaul. There are lists in church for you to sign up to show us that you may be coming.

Rowan Williams lecture
Bishop Rowan Williams is giving a lecture at St Mary’s Bourne Street, on Anglican-Roman Catholic dialogue on Thursday 22nd September at 7 pm. This is free. Bourne Street is just behind Sloan Square (SW1W 8JJ)

PCC meeting
St Peters meeting with the Archdeacon has been postponed to February.

School Governor needed
St Peter’s PCC needs to appoint someone to represent them on the School’s Board of Governors. If you would be interested in this important role, please speak to Father Henry or to Lorraine Kessler-Singh.

London Open House
The annual festival of architecture is this weekend and St Mary Mags took part as usual yesterday. Lots of unusual buildings are open for free this weekend, and it is well worth investigating. Just Google “London Open House” and you’ll find it.

St Peter’s Dedication Festival
The annual commemoration of the building of the church will be kept on Sunday 2nd October, with a joint service at 11am, so there is no Mass at St Mary Mags that morning. There will be a party afterwards, so please bring food to share.

Food Bank
The North Paddington Food Bank is in urgent need of more food. Especially needed are tinned meat and fish. They have enough pasta. Please bring stuff and put it into the bins in church.

First Communion
The First Communion group at St Peters will meet again next Sunday, and the First Communion Service will be on Sunday 9th October.
