 Issue 391
Christian Aid Week
As usual, we are collecting in church for Christian Aid Week, which has just finished. If you forget to bring money last week, we are still collecting today. Do use the envelopes and fill in the gift aid details!

Thanks for supporting our big Brekkie
For Christian Aid Week, Tea and Toast at St Peter’s on Thursday was a bit special. Thanks for all your help and support.

150th Anniversary
We shall be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the start of the building of St Mary Mags with a special combined service on Sunday 18th June. We shall be welcoming the Chaplain of Keble College, Oxford (the patrons of the parish) as our preacher, and James has recruited singers who will be singing music by Palestrina. It will be a very special occasion so put the date in your diary now.

Thy Kingdom Come
This is a global initiative, between Ascension and Pentecost, of prayer for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. There are events all over, including “messy Cathedral” at St Pauls, from 10:30 to 12:20 on Bank Holiday Monday, 29th May. We shall be having Rosary Prayers at 7:30 pm on Thursday 1st June at St Mary Mags.

St Augustine’s
Our neighbours at St Augustine’s are keeping their Patronal Festival with a Mass and Procession on Saturday 27th May at 10:30. The Bishop of Fulham will be celebrant.

PCC Meeting
The PCC of St Mary Magdalene’s meets at 11am on Sunday 28th May in the Vestry.

Fr Henry
Fr Henry is preaching at St Peter’s, Bournemouth, today.

July Book Club
The book is “The End of the Affair” by Graham Greene. We meet on Wednesday 19th July at 7:30pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s.

Prayer Lists
We are delighted to pray for anyone you ask us to, but just now the prayer lists are getting rather long. Please can you pay attention to the intercessions, and let Father Henry know if there are any names that should no longer be there.

For Christian Aid Week, Tea and toast at St Peter’s on Thursday will be a bit special; this week it will run from 9:30 to 12:30, with cake as well as breakfast. So drop in for coffee and cake, or breakfast, if you can, and if you can’t then give Jacqui something towards it. Jacqui will also need help setting up and closing down, and manning the charity stalls on the day.
