IN THE PINK Candlemass 2018

Issue 425
 Parish Electoral Rolls
As we approach the Annual Meeting season, it is time to check our electoral rolls. So if you are a regular member of either congregation and have never filled in the form, take one from the back of the church, fill it in, and return it to Fr Henry. Also fill in a new form if you have changed address.

March Book Club
The Book Club will meet at 7:30pm on Wednesday 14th March in the meeting room at St Peter’s.
The book to read is “The Buried Giant” by Kazuo Ishiguro, the Nobel prize winning author. The usual posters for signing will appear in church.

Prayer for South Sudan
Local people whose homeland is South Sudan have asked us to pray for them. Please pray for an end to the damaging civil war, and for reconciliation and reconstruction. If you would like to know more about what you can do to help please contact Angel Samuel asalm5@yahoo.co.uk

Confirmation
Confirmation is the normal mark of adult membership of the Church. We shall soon be starting preparation for confirmation especially for those who were admitted to Communion as children, bit are now 16 to 18. Fr Henry would like to hear from anyone in that category, but also any adult who does not receive communion, and would like to be confirmed.

Reading at St Peter’s
We would like to recruit some more people to read or lead intercessions at St Peter’s Please give your name to Father Henry (even if you’ve mentioned it before but haven’t been put on the rota yet).

New Font
We have commissioned the making of a new font for St Peter’s. It will be used for the first time today, but the blessing has had to be postponed as Fr Reji was after all unable to join us today.

Cathedral Events
The new booklet of Cathedral Events is available at the back of the church. There is a free Sunday Forum on Pilgrimage in the Wren suite in the Crypt of the Cathedral on Sunday 4th February from 1 to 2 pm.

Women’s Social Group
Do remember the Women’s Social Group, which meets in the Meeting Room of St Peter’s on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm. Next meeting is this Wednesday! Speak to Josephine if you want to know more.
