 Book Club
The Book Club will meet at 7:30pm on Wednesday 19th September in the Meeting Room, upstairs at St Peter’s. We are reading “This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor” by Adam Kay.

Quiz Night
Pub quiz organised by St Mary Mags Heritage Pioneers, free entry, prizes galore. Tuesday 2nd October at 7:30pm in the upstairs room of the Eagle, 15 Clifton Road, Q9 1SY (near Tesco, up from Warwick Avenue tube). Come along and join the fun; general knowledge and Paddington themed questions. Sponsored Cycle Ride
Fr Henry and his brother-in-law succeeded in cycling from Paddington to Paris, last week, in memory of Helen and in aid of Christian Aid Education. You can make a donation online by visiting the web page.

Works at St Mary Magdalene’s
The restoration works at St Mary Magdalene’s are nearly finished, and the builders intend to hand the church back to us later this month. We shall need a working party to clean and move furniture one Saturday, so please check your diaries and talk to Fr. Henry.
The new building is behind schedule and will not be usable until the New Year.

London Open House
It has turned out to be impossible to have SMM open for London Open House. Thanks for your offers of help.

Autumn  Programmes
The booklets with programmes of autumn events at St Paul’s Cathedral and St Martin-in-the Fields are now available at the back of church. The lectures at St Martin’s begin on Monday 17th September, with Bishop Rowan Williams taking on “Encountering the Other”.

Christian Studies Course
The Paddington Christian Studies course starts Tuesday 25th. Leaflets are at the back of church. Tuesdays 8pm in Bayswater, £50 for the whole year. Contact the coordinator on 07540086516 or email paddington.course@london.anglican.org

Today
We welcome the Bishop of Fulham, who has come to St Peter’s to confirm Johnson, Abigail and Georgia. He will also be blessing the new font. Bishop Jonathan is one of our team of bishops in the Diocese of London, ministering with the authority of the Diocesan Bishop. He is also an old friend and neighbour of Fr Henry.

PCC Meetings This Week
St Mary Magdalene’s PCC meets on Tuesday 4th September at 7pm at the Vicarage. St Peter’s PCC meets on Wednesday 5th September at 7pm in the Meeting Room.
