IN THE PINK Christmastide 2019

      Issue 517
Epiphany Combined Service
As usual we will be celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany together at St Mary Magdalene’s, at 11am. This is NEXT SUNDAY 5th January. The special feature of the service is our procession to the crib with the Epiphany gifts, remembering the journey of the Magi.

Happy Christmas
Fr Henry and Fiona want to wish you all a very happy Christmas. Thanks very much for all the cards and presents.

January PCC Meetings
Both parochial church council meetings meet in January. St Mary Magdalene’s PCC meets on Thursday 16th at 7pm in the Education Studio. St Peter’s PCC meets on Wednesday 22nd January at 7pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s.

Book Club
The book club will meet next on Wednesday 12th February, at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s. Our book is “Just William” by Richmal Crompton. After some rather harrowing novels, we thought something lighter would be appropriate to the season.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The week runs from 18th to 25th January, and so the annual service is on the Sunday in that week, Sunday 19th. Our local service will be at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Vincent de Paul in the Harrow Road.

Visit from Fr Reji
Fr Reji Raj-Singh, who was our assistant priest before he retired to Dorset, will be celebrant and preacher on Sunday 12th January, while Fr Henry is on pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

Visit from the Bishop of London
The Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullaly, will be preaching at a special service of Evensong and Benediction at St Mary Magdalene’s to celebrate the completion of the building works, and the partnership with PDT. This will be at 7pm on Sunday 2nd February. Please put the date in your diaries and make sure you are there.

Volunteering at Grand Junction
Grand Junction has lots of opportunities for volunteers. Do look at the website, or contact Sara: volunteering@grandjunction.org.uk
They are especially keen to recruit people to welcome people to the building, and people to learn to become guides to the church.
