IN THE PINK Easter 6 2019

        Issue 489
Women’s Group
Very many thanks to all the members of the Women’s Group for the excellent Quiz Night at St Peter’s. Especial thanks to Josephine and Eno, who worked particularly hard. The evening raised £220 for St Peter’s which was a brilliant result. Thanks as well to everyone who came along and took part in the evening. The next Women’s Group meeting is on Friday 31st at Indra’s flat.

Celebration at St Mary Magdalene’s
We shall be celebrating the completion of the building work at St Mary Magdalene’s with a Solemn Mass at 6.30pm on Thursday 13th June. James is organising great music for us. We shall have choirs from Sussex House and Caldicott Schools, thanks to Nicholas Kay and James. The Bishop of Fulham will preside and preach. There will be drinks and refreshments afterwards, and of course the opportunity to see what has been done.

Weekday Mass at St Mary Mag’s
We are re-starting the Wednesday morning Mass at St Mary Magdalene’s. This will now be at 8.30, and will start on 12th June.

PCC Meetings
Both PCC meet in May, as usual. St Peter’s meets in the Meeting Room at 7pm on Wednesday 29th (NB change of date).

Thy Kingdom Come
We will be filling up the time between Ascension and Pentecost (31st May – 8th June) with and Octave of prayer for the Church and its growth, and our own spiritual growth. There will be materials provided, for this initiative of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Book Club
The book club meets next on Wednesday 19th June, at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s. We are reading “Silas Marner” by George Eliot.

Prayer Lists
A reminder that we are happy to pray for anyone you ask us to on the sick list; but please help us keep the list up to date. Do let Fr Henry know if there are any names that should no longer be there.

Today
At St Peter’s we shall be baptizing little Royal.

Christian Aid Week
As usual, we are collecting in church for Christian Aid Week, which begins today.  If you forgot to bring money today, we shall still be collecting next Sunday.

Support our big Brekkie
For Christian Aid Week, Tea and toast at St Peter’s on Thursday will be a bit special; this week it will run from 11 to 12:30. Do drop in for breakfast, if you can, or just a cup of coffee and if you can’t, then give Jacqui something towards it. Jacqui will also need help setting up and closing down. There’s no Lunch Club this week , but you could join the Lunch Club next Saturday at 12.30, and pay for that for Christian Aid as well.

Quiz Night
The Women’s Social Group have organised a quiz Night in the Hall on Friday 17th May at 6.30 pm. There will be a meal, with vegetarian options, and tickets are available now from Josephine and other members of the Women’s Group. Adults £5, Children £2.50, Family £10.
