IN THE PINK Trinity 1 2019

       Issue 493

St Peter’s Day
We celebrate the Patronal Festival at St Peter’s on the Sunday nearest to 29th June, so that’s 30th June this year. Consequently, there is no Mass at St Mary Mags next Sunday, and we join together for a combined service at 11am at St Peter’s. Fr Frank will be our preacher. There will be food afterwards, so please remember to bring something.

St Peter’s School 150th
St Peter’s School are celebrating their 150th anniversary this month. The celebration is at 2.30pm on Thursday 27th with Canon Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Speaker’s Chaplain. All friends, past pupils and past parents will be very welcome.

Book Club
The book club will meet next on Wednesday 28th August, at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s. Our new book is written by Nelson Abbey, a member of St Peter’s (since childhood). It has just been published by Canongate, and is entitled “Think like a White Man”. It presents on the cover as being by “Dr Boule Whytelaw lll as told to Nels Abbey” but you can find it on Amazon under Nelson’s name. Even if you are not going to come to the book club, do buy the book.

Today
We welcome as our celebrant Fr Bill Jacob, the former Archdeacon of Charing Cross.

Art and Poetry Competition
Westminster Faith Exchange have extended their usual children’s art competition, so it is now for both art and poetry. This year’s theme is “Looking after our Planet”. Entries close on Wednesday 3rd July, so get working! Enter on

Grand Junction
This is the new name for the St Mary Mags project, which is run by PDT and the PCC together. Grand Junction activities are starting now that the building work is finished, though the café won’t be open for a few weeks yet. Do take a copy of the Grand Junction brochure.

Thanks
Fr Henry and Fiona would like to thank you all very much for your cards, presents and best wishes. Special thanks to those who came to the church. We shall be back for St Peter’s day.
