IN THE PINK Epiphany 2 2020

                      Issue 519
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The week runs from 18th to 25th January, and so the annual service is today, Sunday 19th. Our local service will be at 6.30pm at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Vincent de Paul in the Harrow Road. Do come along to the service if you can. In your prayers please pray for the unity of Christians. In our daily prayers we shall be remembering local congregations:
Today: Morning Star Church (who use SMM)
Monday: Westbourne Park Baptist Church
Tuesday: Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Sorrows RC churches
Wednesday: Fernhead Road Methodist Church
Thursday: Igreja Maida Vale (who use St Peter’s)
Friday: Anointed Church (who use St Peter’s)

Westbourne Global Food Festival
Saturday 25th January 2-5pm at Westbourne Park Baptist Church. Food from many different local outlets, including Sindian Grill House, Little Venice Fish Bar, Dhaba@49, Tsiakkos, Patience Corner, Papa John’s Pizza, W2 Roti Shop. Enjoy free live performances.

Visiting Preacher
Fr Paul Thomas, the Area Dean of Paddington, who is the rector of St James, Sussex Gardens (the parish church of Paddington) will be our preacher on Sunday 26th at both services.

Visit from the Bishop of London
The Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullaly, will be preaching at a special service of Evensong and Benediction at St Mary Magdalene’s to celebrate the completion of the building works, and the partnership with PDT. This will be at 7pm on Sunday 2nd February with refreshments after. The Deanery have been invited.

PCC Meeting
St Peter’s PCC meets on Wednesday 22nd January at 7pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s.

Book Club
The book club will meet next on Wednesday 12th February, at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at St Peter’s. Our book is “Just William” by Richmal Crompton. After some rather harrowing novels, we thought something lighter would be appropriate to the season.

Volunteers at Grand Junction
Grand Junction has lots of opportunities for volunteers. Do look at the website, or contact Sara: volunteering@grandjunction.org.uk
They are especially keen to recruit people to welcome people to the building, and people to learn to become guides to the church.

Freud in Paddington
Thursday 13th February at 7.30pm at St Mary Mags, Bill Feaver, Lucian Freud’s friend and biographer, will be talking about Freud’s 30 years working in Paddington.
